BEHIND THE DESIGN
The client was drawn to traditional Kyrgyz ornaments, especially the simpler, flatter ones, so we began by narrowing down which motif would best represent the brand. After a few back-and-forth sessions, we settled on a clean, minimal illustration that reflected their preference for simplicity and clarity.
As the project developed, I felt it was important to bring in a tactile element that aligned with the brand’s focus on handmade crafts. Since so much of their work involves textiles, rugs, and home decor made by hand, I explored lino printing as a way to translate the chosen ornament into something more textured and expressive. The prints added depth and character, and once I shared them with the client, we agreed that this direction better captured the spirit of their work.
